How to create a good online recognition for your business?
The age of television advertising is largely over. Now, the internet marketing is where it all happens. It operates on a completely different premise – instead of being targeted at passive audience, it assumes that the customers are active and are searching for what they need. However, the “what they need” can be provided by a lot of companies. If your business is one of them, how do you make sure you are the one that is being found?
Taking care of your online recognition and visibility is very important for carving a spot for your business. In this article, you can find several great ways to increase your online visibility.
1.Generate leads!
Lead generation is a great way to increase the interest around your product. The most popular way to do this is by creating email lists and sending out highly targeted messages showcasing your business’s products or services as well as offering discounts and vouchers. Content marketing is also a useful lead generator. It can be used to increase the traffic on your website and give your customers solutions they need for the problems they have as well as provide entertainment. Another widely used way to generate leads is event marketing. All these activities aim at creating a group of people interested in what you are doing and willing to pay for it.
2. Ask for reviews!
So you already have a group of interested people and your online presence is growing. How to present yourself in the best way possible to new customers? Ask the ones who already did business with you for a review! Assuming they are positive, reviews can do a great job at making a potential customer decide to do business with you. After all, there’s nothing as convincing as a recommendation from a third party!
3. Set up a blog for your company!
A blog is a fantastic way to merge several marketing campaigns into one: content marketing, SEO, PPC and ad targeting. However, most of all, it is a way to showcase your expertise – if someone looks to solve a problem and your blog has an article that includes a solution, chances are (quite high) that you just got yourself a customer!
4. Find buzz topics in your niche and create content out of them!
It’s hard to be original and come up with something completely fresh in the Internet era. However, having your own perspective on issues that are talked about in your niche market is something you should work on. It’s also a great way to create (semi-)unique content. Presenting your views on well-known issues can add more expertise to your content marketing campaign. It is okay to recreate content (just make sure not to copy and paste it – that’s plagiarism!) as long as you are able to provide something unique for the reader.
5. Use social media!
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc… these are all massive platforms, which can be easily turned into internet marketing tools. You can post content, target ads or interact with your audience (for example by replying to their comments). Social media are a great way to create your brand identity as well as to increase your brand awareness and grow your audience. Paid exposure options on, for example, Facebook is also a good way to increase your customer base. The trick to social media is that you have to be careful what you are posting. A small social media mishap can turn into a massive PR scandal!
6. Determine what your keywords are and use them often!
One of the most important factors in SEO is the keywords. Google uses them to prioritize the search results. Look for your keywords in the characteristics of your business and your niche. Think of the related phrases that customers are likely to use when they try to find you or a similar company. Be specific, but don’t forget to cater to a bigger audience. Understanding and mastering the SEO is surely a hard task, but the profits can be incredible!
7. Make your website as intuitive as possible!
You have about five seconds from the moment somebody enters your website until the moment they decide whether or not your business is the one they will pick. One of the most important factors that influence this decision is the website design. Take extra effort to make sure it is as clear as possible. Contact info, offer, company history – a customer wants to be able to find these and much more, without any difficulty. This refers to a mobile version of the website as well!
8. Take care of the graphic side!
Once you’ve got a beautifully designed and clear website, it is time to pick the right colours! Let them reflect your business. When you’re an online flower shop, use a lot of vernal colours. A law firm would use toned, blue-ish colours to emphasise their sophistication, but an Internet shop for metalheads would have all the website covered in black! Similarly to the website design, the choice of colours also applies to a mobile site.
A logo is also a crucial element of your website’s graphic design. It reflects your business, but in a different way than colours do. A good logo can tell the story of your company and simply, be aesthetically pleasing to the eye!
